Our
Initiatives
At the South Asian Bar Association of North Carolina (SABA-NC), our commitment to advancing the legal profession and serving our community is exemplified through a series of targeted initiatives. These programs are designed to foster professional growth, promote diversity, and improve access to justice for the South Asian community and beyond.
Public Interest Fellowship
The Public Interest Fellowship (PIF) is a joint initiative of the South Asian Bar Association of North America Foundation (SABA North America Foundation) and participating SABA Chapters. The Fellowship reflects our commitment to fostering the next generation of public interest attorneys by providing financial support to law students and recent graduates pursuing careers dedicated to serving underserved communities.

For the 2025 Fellowship cycle, SABA North America Foundation will award three to six grants, each ranging from $5,000 to $10,000, to individuals who have secured unpaid or low-paid positions in public-interest law during the summer of 2025. These fellowships aim to encourage and support legal professionals committed to advancing justice through nonprofit organizations, legal services groups, public defender or district attorney offices, government agencies, and other public service law settings.
